Tekirova stretches along the Mediterranean beneath pine-covered slopes and the high outline of Tahtalı. It is the southernmost of the main large-hotel resort neighbourhoods on this part of the coast, with extensive resort grounds facing the sea and a small settlement set behind them. From both the shore and residential streets, pine-covered foothills fill the inland view, and Tahtalı's upper slopes rise above the hotel roofs and gardens.

Tekirova Beach, section by section

Tekirova Beach changes as it follows the long coast. Some stretches have coarse sand, others fine pebbles, and many contain a mixture of both, so no single description fits the entire shoreline. Sea entry varies with the material underfoot, while wind and weather shape conditions from day to day.

Large hotels manage substantial parts of the beachfront, often beside their gardens and leisure areas. A municipal beach beside Deniz Kafe forms one public section on the same coast. Along much of the remaining shore, resort grounds reach the water beside their managed beach sections, and no uninterrupted promenade connects the coast from end to end.

Places worth seeing around Tekirova

Phaselis lies close to Tekirova on a forested peninsula, beyond the resort streets. This ancient port city had three harbours, and its remains include an aqueduct, baths, agoras, a theatre, a main street and structures from the Roman and Byzantine periods. Pines reach down around the ruins, while small beaches occupy the old harbour inlets.

Üç Adalar, the group of islands offshore, is closely associated with Tekirova's diving scene. Reefs, underwater caves and varied submerged terrain make this a recognised dive area, distinct from the beach activities on the mainland.

Tahtalı rises behind the coast, and its upper slopes remain visible above the wooded foothills from the beach, hotel grounds and local streets. The summit and cable-car station lie outside Tekirova itself, farther up the mountain.

Local streets and quieter evenings

Away from the seafront properties, Tekirova has homes, smaller places to stay, everyday shops and cafés along compact commercial streets. This is a modest local centre rather than an old town or urban waterfront. Evenings tend to remain low-key outside the hotels, while much of the organised entertainment takes place within the larger resorts. After dark, the small commercial streets provide the main activity beyond the resort gates without turning into a nightlife district.

The contrast is clearest with Kemer centre, where the marina, Liman Caddesi, Ayışığı Koyu and a wider spread of restaurants create a livelier evening scene. Neighbouring Çamyuva has a broader residential area behind its hotel shore. In Tekirova, the residential streets cover a smaller area, while hotel grounds occupy more of the seaward edge than they do in Çamyuva.

Tekirova through the seasons

Summer is the hottest, driest and busiest part of the year, when the beachfront hotels and resort streets are at their most active. Spring and autumn are milder and generally less busy. Winter is much quieter, and many businesses connected to tourism operate seasonally rather than throughout the year.
