Çıralı sits on Antalya’s western coast, with a long natural shoreline in front of forested mountain slopes. Among the best-known things to do in Cirali are exploring Olympos in its wooded river valley, seeing the small flames at Yanartaş and spending time on the mixed sand-and-pebble beach. This is a low-rise place of pensions, bungalows and garden restaurants rather than large beachfront resorts.
A coastal settlement among gardens
Forested slopes rise immediately behind the narrow coastal plain. Homes, family-run accommodation, small shops and places to eat sit among citrus and other gardens, linked by local roads rather than an urban promenade. There is no marina or old-town quarter; restaurants and cafés sit both by the beach and along the settlement’s quieter lanes.
Çıralı Beach and the sea
The beach runs continuously towards Olympos at the southern end, but its surface is not the same throughout. Coarse sand, small pebbles and mixed sections all occur; this is not a uniformly soft, sandy beach. It is also an important nesting area for loggerhead turtles, or Caretta caretta. During the warmer nesting and hatching season, nests are monitored and protected as part of local conservation work, although that status does not guarantee a turtle sighting.
Essential things to do in Cirali
Olympos Ancient City
At the southern end of the shared shore, the ruins of Olympos occupy both banks of a stream beneath dense vegetation. Olympos was an important Lycian harbour city and a member of the Lycian League. Its surviving Roman- and Byzantine-period remains include a theatre, baths, a basilica and other church remains, tombs, walls and a bridge pier. Trees and undergrowth surround the masonry throughout the site.

Yanartaş
Yanartaş lies on the rocky slope above the northern side of Çıralı, beyond the flat beach settlement. Natural gas escapes through fissures and burns in small, persistent flames. The site is linked to the Chimera and Bellerophon myth and to the ancient cult of Hephaistos. The Lycian Way passes through the wider area around Çıralı, Olympos and Yanartaş.

Çıralı’s protected shore
The shore itself is one of Çıralı’s main sights. From the waterline, forested mountains rise behind low-rise buildings scattered among gardens, with no large beachfront hotel compounds dominating the view.
Çıralı, Olympos and nearby resort centres
Çıralı and Olympos share a beach but are not the same place. Çıralı is the settled stretch to the north and east; Olympos is the southern end around the ancient city and wooded river valley. Compared with Kemer centre, Çıralı has no marina and a much smaller shopping and evening area. Tekirova has more large resort grounds, while Çıralı’s accommodation remains mostly small-scale and dispersed among gardens.
Seasons and evenings
Summer is the hottest and busiest period. Spring and autumn are milder, while winter is quieter and more tourism businesses operate seasonally. Evenings are generally quiet: restaurants and cafés are scattered along garden roads and the beachfront, without a major nightlife strip.
