Avsallar holidays include more than a line of beachfront hotels. This Mediterranean neighbourhood has sandy coves, a recognisable town centre and local streets beyond the resort grounds. Cafés, restaurants and shops serve local life as well as tourism, while the waterline changes from broad sand to rockier hotel sections along the coast.
Where Avsallar sits on the western Alanya coast
Avsallar is a neighbourhood of Alanya district in Antalya Province, on the district’s western Mediterranean shore. Okurcalar lies farther west, while Türkler is to the east. İncekum adjoins Avsallar on its western side. Tourism descriptions sometimes group Avsallar and İncekum because their coastal development and sandy stretches meet, but they remain neighbouring places rather than two names for exactly the same area.
What Avsallar holidays are like by the sea

Fine sand is common in several sheltered coves, especially towards the İncekum side. At some beaches, broad pale sand reaches the waterline and the sea entry is gradual. The coast is not uniform, however: particular hotel frontages may include natural rock, piers, swimming platforms or small pebbles among the sand.
Conditions also change from one cove to another. Waves, water depth and the surface underfoot vary with the exact beach and the state of the sea on the day. Calm-looking shallows can become choppier when conditions shift.
Town streets, resorts and evenings

Large all-inclusive resorts occupy much of the seafront, but Avsallar is not simply a hotel corridor. The D400 passes through the broader area, with resort entrances and local streets on either side. The main road serves both large resort entrances and the turnings into Avsallar’s centre streets. In the centre, cafés, restaurants, everyday shops and bazaar activity give the neighbourhood a life of its own away from the hotel grounds.
Evenings are generally lower-key than those in central Alanya. Entertainment inside the resorts is only part of the picture: people also gather around the centre streets, browse shops and sit at cafés or restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed without the town feeling empty once the beach day ends.
Places worth knowing near Avsallar
Neighbouring İncekum Beach lies just outside Avsallar. Its fine sand and clear water sit beside a wooded recreation and nature-park setting, where pine trees form a green backdrop behind the shore. That combination of forest edge and sandy coast distinguishes it from the more built-up hotel frontages nearby.
Alanya’s major historic sights lie beyond Avsallar, in and around the central city. The castle peninsula rises above the harbour, the Red Tower marks the old waterfront, and Damlataş Cave is close to the western foot of the peninsula. These are wider Alanya attractions, not landmarks within Avsallar itself.
The feel of the seasons
High summer is the hottest and busiest period, when beaches and resort grounds see their greatest activity. Late spring and early autumn are generally milder, though weather, sea conditions and the level of seasonal activity vary. The centre’s shops, cafés and local streets are part of Avsallar’s everyday life as well as its summer tourism.
