Antalya Airport to the COP31 Venue: Planning Your Arrival Day

Landing in Antalya for COP31? When to arrive, badge desk hours, hotel or venue first, and how to get from the airport to the EXPO Center.

Most people attending COP31 will start their fortnight at Antalya Airport, and the first few hours set the tone for everything after. This guide covers the practical side of getting from Antalya Airport to the COP31 venue and your hotel: which day to land, when the badge desks are open, whether to go to the hotel or the venue first, and what to do if your flight lands late at night.

The conference runs from 9 to 20 November 2026 at the Antalya EXPO Center in Aksu, east of the airport. The official COP31 transport page puts the airport-to-venue run at about 20 to 30 minutes.

Pick your arrival day around the badge desks

You collect your badge at the registration desk the first time you arrive at the venue. The desks open a week before the conference starts:

Dates Registration desk hours
Tue 3 – Sat 7 November 08:00–18:00
Sun 8 – Wed 11 November 07:00–19:00
Thu 12 – Fri 20 November 08:00–19:00
Sun 15 November Venue closed

The weekend before the opening on 9 November is the obvious rush, so if your schedule allows, landing earlier in that first week makes the badge queue easier. If you have a choice, avoid flying in on 11 or 12 November, when heads of state arrive for the World Leaders' Summit and security is at its tightest.

Party and UN delegations can ask their focal point to have badges pre-printed and collected in advance, which saves each delegate the trip to the desk.

What to bring for your badge

The registration desk needs two things from you: the acknowledgement letter from the UNFCCC online registration system, printed or on your phone, and a valid passport or national photo ID. Once your badge has been issued and activated, you go straight through security at the entrance, where it is scanned. There is no need to return to the desk.

Hotel first or venue first?

For most people, the hotel comes first. The venue cloakroom is open from 08:00 to 19:00, everything left there has to be collected the same day, and walking a suitcase through conference security is nobody's idea of a good start.

There is one exception. If you are staying in Belek or further east, the venue lies roughly on your way from the airport. Landing in the morning, you can stop to collect your badge while your driver waits with the luggage, then carry on to the hotel. If you want to do this, tell us when you book so we can plan the stop.

Your options from Antalya Airport

Option Good for Keep in mind
Official COP31 shuttle Accredited participants heading to the venue or an official hotel Timetables are due closer to the conference
Taxi from the designated rank Single trips with little planning Queues are likely when several long-haul flights land together
AntRay tram Light luggage and hotels near the line in the city Check current running times before you rely on it
Pre-booked private transfer Groups, heavy luggage, late arrivals Price is fixed in advance and a driver meets you in arrivals

The official shuttle network connects the airport and the official hotels with the venue. If your accommodation is outside the official platform, read our guide on reaching the venue from outside the official hotels before you travel.

Landing late at night

Long-haul connections often land in the evening or after midnight. Trams usually stop running around midnight, and shuttle hours for the conference period have not yet been published. That leaves the taxi rank or a car you booked in advance.

Antalya Airport has two international terminals and a domestic one, so include your flight number and terminal when you book. That way the driver knows where to wait and can follow your actual arrival time if the flight is delayed.

Leaving Antalya after COP31

Recent COPs have often run past their scheduled final day, and the closing sessions are when most decisions land. If you can, book a flexible return rather than a flight on the evening of 20 November. Expect the airport to be busy from 20 November onwards as delegations leave together, and give yourself more time than usual for check-in and security. A return transfer booked with your arrival can be moved by message if the conference runs late.
