Dalaman Airport Transfers: The Right Gateway to Fethiye and Ölüdeniz

Dalaman Airport is under an hour from Fethiye and Ölüdeniz — Antalya is three and a half. Transfer prices to Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Kalkan, Kaş and Marmaris.

There is a mistake that costs holidaymakers three hours of their first day, and it is made at the flight-booking stage, long before anyone thinks about transfers. It is booking a cheap flight to Antalya when the hotel is in Fethiye.

Dalaman Airport (DLM) sits at the western end of the Turkish Mediterranean, and it exists precisely for this stretch of coast. Fethiye is under an hour away. Ölüdeniz barely more. From Antalya, those same hotels are a three-and-a-half hour drive.

What a Dalaman Airport transfer costs

Prices are per vehicle, not per person, for a private car with a driver meeting you inside the terminal. Every figure is pulled live from our booking system as you read.

Fethiye and around — 45 minutes to 1 hour

Marmaris — about 1.5 hours

The Lycian coast east — 1.5 to 2.5 hours

This is the stretch where Dalaman and Antalya are genuinely comparable, so check both.

The arithmetic that actually matters

Compare Fethiye from both airports. From Dalaman it is and about fifty minutes. From Antalya Airport the same journey is and three and a half hours.

So the Antalya flight has to be cheaper by a meaningful margin and you have to be willing to give up an afternoon. Many people book it anyway, because the transfer is invisible at the moment they compare ticket prices.

Where the line falls. West of Kalkan, Dalaman wins comfortably. Between Kalkan and Kaş the two airports are close enough that flight price and schedule should decide it. East of Kaş, Antalya takes over.

Where Dalaman is different

The drive from Dalaman to Fethiye climbs through pine forest rather than running along a coastal strip of hotels. It is quieter, greener, and — if you land in daylight — genuinely one of the better airport drives in the country.

The airport itself is mid-sized: bigger and better connected than Gazipaşa, far calmer than Antalya in August. Arrivals rarely take long.

What the transfer includes

A driver waiting inside the arrivals hall with your name on a sign, flight tracking so a delay simply moves your pickup, free waiting time while you clear passport control and collect luggage, all fuel and road tolls, and child seats when you request them.

No per-bag charge, no night surcharge, no fee added at the kerb, and no payment in a currency you did not agree to.

A note for Ölüdeniz and Kayaköy

Both sit up above Fethiye on winding roads. A private transfer takes you to the door; a dolmuş leaves you at a junction with your luggage. With a paraglider's kit bag or a family's fortnight of suitcases, that difference decides the evening.

Kayaköy in particular is worth the extra fifteen minutes — the abandoned stone village above the valley is the most atmospheric thing within reach of the airport.

Booking notes

Give the flight number rather than the landing time, so a delay moves your pickup automatically. Send the full hotel name and address — Ölüdeniz has clusters of small hotels with similar names on the same lane. And book the return when you book the arrival.

If your hotel is east of Kaş, compare this against our Antalya Airport transfer prices guide before you buy the ticket — that is exactly where the two airports trade places.

Frequently asked questions

About 50 kilometres, roughly fifty minutes by road. A private transfer starts at per vehicle. The same trip from Antalya Airport takes around three and a half hours.

Dalaman, almost always. It is fifty minutes away against three and a half hours from Antalya, and the transfer costs less too. Only a very large difference in ticket price makes Antalya worth considering for Fethiye or Ölüdeniz.

From per vehicle, about an hour from the terminal. The last stretch is a winding climb above Fethiye, so a private transfer to the door is worth it — especially with paragliding gear or a family's luggage.

Per vehicle, always. A couple and a family of five travelling to the same hotel in one car pay the same. You only pay more when the group needs a larger vehicle.

Nothing, as long as you gave the flight number when booking. We track the aircraft and shift the pickup to the real landing time, with no rebooking fee and no charge for the extra waiting.
