Which Airport Should You Fly Into for the Turkish Riviera?
Antalya, Gazipaşa, Dalaman or Bodrum? Pick the airport by where your hotel is, not by ticket price — with real transfer times and costs for each.
The single decision that most affects your first holiday day is made weeks earlier, in a flight-search tab: which airport you fly into.
Get it right and you are at the hotel forty minutes after landing. Get it wrong and you spend three and a half hours in a car, having saved perhaps twenty euros on the ticket. Four airports serve this coast, and each one owns a different stretch of it.

The rule in one line
Choose the airport by where your hotel is. Compare ticket plus transfer, never the ticket alone.
Almost every bad arrival on this coast comes from ignoring that second sentence.
Antalya Airport — the default, and usually right
The biggest by far, with the most flights and the cheapest tickets. It covers the centre of the coast: Lara from , Belek from , Kemer from , Side from .
Its territory: everything from Kemer through Belek and Side to Okurcalar, plus the city districts. Also the fallback anywhere else when the flight schedule leaves you no choice.
Where it stops making sense: Alanya and east (two hours), Fethiye and west (three and a half).
Gazipaşa Airport — the Alanya shortcut
Small, quiet, and forty-five minutes from Alanya at — against roughly two hours from Antalya. Mahmutlar is , Avsallar .
Its territory: east of Okurcalar — Alanya, Mahmutlar, Kestel, Tosmur, Konaklı, Avsallar.
The trade-off: far fewer airlines and routes, and the schedule thins outside high summer. Sometimes there simply is no flight that suits you.
Dalaman Airport — the western gateway
Fethiye in fifty minutes at ; from Antalya the same hotel is and three and a half hours. Ölüdeniz is , Marmaris .
Its territory: Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Kayaköy, Marmaris, and west of Kalkan.
The contested strip: between Kalkan and Kaş, Dalaman and Antalya are close enough that the flight should decide it — Kalkan is from Dalaman and from Antalya.
Bodrum Milas Airport — rarely the answer here
It serves the Aegean, not this coast. Reaching Fethiye from Bodrum costs against from Dalaman — four times the price and several times the driving.
Choose it only when: you are combining Bodrum with a Mediterranean stop, or no other airport has a workable flight.
Decide in ten seconds
Find your destination, take that airport:
- Alanya, Mahmutlar, Kestel, Tosmur, Konaklı, Avsallar → Gazipaşa
- Kemer, Belek, Side, Manavgat, Lara, Konyaaltı, Kaleici → Antalya
- Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Kayaköy, Marmaris, Kalkan → Dalaman
- Kaş, Patara → either Dalaman or Antalya; let the flight decide
- Demre, Çıralı, Olympos, Kumluca → Antalya

When the cheap ticket still wins
Sometimes it genuinely does. A flight to Antalya can be enough cheaper than one to Dalaman that even a three-hour transfer leaves you ahead, especially for a couple sharing one vehicle rather than paying per seat.
The calculation is simple: ticket difference minus transfer difference. If the Antalya ticket saves you more than the extra transfer costs, and you do not mind arriving late, take it.
What you should not do is compare only the tickets and discover the transfer afterwards. That is how people end up paying more overall for a longer journey.
Two details worth knowing
Arrival hour matters more than distance. A midnight landing plus a two-hour drive is a different holiday from a midday landing plus the same drive. Our fares do not change with the hour, but your tolerance does.
Return flights can use a different airport. If it suits your schedule, fly into one and out of another — we handle transfers to all four.

Frequently asked questions
Gazipaşa, about 45 minutes away at . Antalya Airport is roughly two hours from Alanya. Gazipaşa has far fewer flights though, so check the schedule before assuming it works for your dates.
Dalaman, without much doubt. Fethiye is and fifty minutes from there, against and three and a half hours from Antalya. Only a very large ticket saving makes Antalya worth it.
Do the subtraction: ticket saving minus the extra transfer cost. If Antalya saves more than the longer transfer adds, and a late arrival does not bother you, it is a fair choice. The mistake is comparing tickets only and meeting the transfer price afterwards.
Yes, and sometimes it is the cheapest combination. We run transfers to and from all four airports, so book the arrival and the departure as two separate legs with different endpoints.
Rarely. Fethiye from Bodrum is against from Dalaman, and the drive is several times longer. It only makes sense if you are combining Bodrum with a Mediterranean stay.
